The 37km off-road route around Cape Town's iconic Table Mountain poses a gruelling challenge for experienced runners, and a good outing for the relay teams. Runners negotiate fynbos footpaths along the mountain slopes, traversing indigenous forest, crossing mountain streams and scrambling along steep cliffs.
Kloof Nek (easy access, big car park, well known). 7.00 for 7.30am (it means arrive at Kloof Nek car park at 7.00 ready to start the race at 7.30am, coffee will be on sale). Starts for Individuals from 7.00am, Teams from 7.30am.
Below Tafelberg Road , via Deer Park to the path below the Blockhouse on Devils Peak , all jeep track, lots of up, not much down. (approx 8.6km) Transition for Relay Runners.
Leg 2 - From Blockhouse style , contour path to Constantia Neck, passing above Kirstenbosch. New section - Rooikat Trail. (approx 12km).

C/Neck, short cut through Orange Kloof (unique, requiring special permission), to Myburgs Path, to Suikerbossie, up Llandudno Corner, along the top of the 12 Apostles to Kasteelspoort, down to Pipe Track and home to Kloof Nek. (approx 17km).

There will be a sweep runner and a cut off time in place at Constantia Neck (1pm).
We recommend that you train on the route and get to know it before the Challenge date.
You are not allowed through Orange Kloof (only on Challenge Day), but may check out Myburgs path from Suikerbossie and the confusing section from Llandudno Corner to Grootkop.
